Visiting the Antinori Winery in Chianti Classico: Architecture, Wine, and Panorama

One of the most fascinating experiences during a stay in Chianti is undoubtedly a visit to the spectacular Antinori winery in Chianti Classico.
From our Bed and Breakfast in Greve in Chianti, the winery is about a 25-minute drive away, crossing some of the most beautiful panoramic roads in the Tuscan countryside, amidst vineyards, olive groves, and rolling hills. The journey itself becomes part of the experience.

A Winemaking Family for Over 600 Years

The Antinori family is one of the oldest winemaking families in Italy: their history in viticulture dates back to 1385, when Giovanni di Piero Antinori entered the Florentine Winemakers' Guild.
Today, the company is led by the 26th generation of the family, continuing a tradition that combines innovation and respect for the land.

A one-of-a-kind winery

The Antinori winery in Chianti Classico, inaugurated in 2012, is also renowned for its extraordinary contemporary architecture. The structure was designed to blend seamlessly into the landscape: from the outside, it appears almost like a hill covered in vineyards, traversed only by two elegant horizontal fissures.
Inside, there are three levels connected by a dramatic spiral staircase, while wine is produced using a gravity-fed vinification system that naturally maintains the ideal temperature throughout all stages of the winemaking process.
The result is a modern, sustainable winery perfectly integrated into the Chianti landscape.

Winery Tour and Tasting

During the guided tour, you can discover:
- the history of the Antinori family
- the winemaking process
- the cellars where the wine rests in barrels
- the most spectacular architectural spaces of the structure

The experiences often include tastings of some of the family's most iconic labels, such as Chianti Classico, Tignanello, or Brunello di Montalcino.
The tasting can take place in the winery's charming spaces, such as the barrel room or a panoramic room overlooking the vineyards.

Lunch with a view of the Chianti hills

Another reason to visit the estate is the Rinuccio 1180 restaurant, located within the winery and open for lunch during the estate's opening days.
Here, you can enjoy traditional Tuscan dishes reinterpreted with a contemporary twist, paired, of course, with Antinori wines and a splendid view of the Chianti hills.
It's a perfect experience for those
who want to spend a few hours immersed in wine, gastronomy, and the Tuscan landscape.
